A Guide to Crash Barrier and Pedestrian Barrier Installation

In the warehouse and logistics industry, crash barriers and pedestrian barriers play a vital role in safeguarding people, property and equipment. Working in a warehouse environment can throw up all sorts of obstacles and hazards, therefore you need to have the right impact protection system places in place to help mitigate these risks. If you’re unsure whether to go for crash barriers and pedestrian barriers and where you need to install them, then this is the guide for you.

What are Crash Barriers?

Although vehicles such as forklifts can make our daily tasks easier, they also pose several health and safety risks. This is where crash barriers can help make your warehouse a safer environment. Crash barriers, also known as impact barriers, are protective barriers that help to prevent vehicles from colliding with walls, equipment and pedestrians in a warehouse. Crash barriers are usually made from robust materials such as steel, aluminum or heavy-duty plastic.

How do Crash Barriers Work?

In the event of a collision, crash barriers absorb and redirect the energy of impact away from vulnerable areas, keeping both your equipment and employees safe. This impact protection system significantly reduces the severity of accidents and enhances overall warehouse safety. You can find out more about the advantages of crash barriers here.

What are Pedestrian Barriers and How Do They Work?

Warehouse pedestrian safety barriers are effective because they help to create designated walkways and pedestrian zones in a warehouse. Pedestrian safety barriers also help prevent accidents because they clearly signify where pedestrians can and cannot walk in the warehouse environment. Installing pedestrian barriers means that warehouses can effectively manage pedestrian flow, minimise the risk of collisions, and promote a safer working environment for employees.
